Consequences of land use change and agricultural land abandonment in Poland

The overall aim of this individual doctoral research conducted by Mahsa Shahbandeh Vayghan is to assess the amount of agricultural land abandonment (ALA)-related land use change in the  study area, and its impacts in the framework of a large-scale land use transition occurring in Europe.

During this research, author will collaborate with a student from Poland who will help him to better learn Polish cultural and social characteristics. Through research and consultation with the mentors and advisors who are specialized in their fields the research skills also will be improved. Researcher will participate in HES-GEO project and it will help him to increase a range of his general academic and transversal skills related to team work that will be used in the project. He is going to apply to the National Science Centre to rise research funding for in-depth analysis and working on other aspects of the research.

As a result, researcher will submit a paper extracted from the project in a scientific high rank journal.
