Rector of the Jagiellonian University announces a competitive selection process for the post of an Assistant Professor in the research staff at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Observatory of the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science within scope of IDUJ ANTHROPECEN

The competitive selection process is open for all individuals, who meet the requirements set out in Articles 113 and 116.2.3) of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science, and who meet the following eligibility criteria according to § 165 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University:

1. holding at least a doctoral degree,
2. having relevant scientific achievements,
3. taking active part in scientific life,  
4. a person joining the competition may not be employed under an employment contract at the University Jagiellonian in the last two years.  

We expect from the candidate:

• predisposition to conduct research as part of research topics developed at the Department of High Energy Astrophysics at Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Observatory of the Jagiellonian University, in particular the development of research related to space weather and solar activity (research domain of IDUJ Anthropocene),
• publishing articles in reputable magazines for which the Jagiellonian University is the only Polish affiliation,
• submitting at least one grant application within 24 months of starting work at the Jagiellonian University to external international or domestic funding agencies, affiliated with the Jagiellonian University.
