Rector of Jagiellonian University announces a competitive selection process for the post of a University Professor in the research staff member group of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science in academic discipline: Mathematics or Computer Science or Technical Informatics and Telecommunications in the thematic scope consistent with the research domains Anthropocene PRA: Earth System science (ESS) or Adaptation, Sustainability, Advancement, Protection (ASAP) or  Emerging Fields (EF) a detailed description of the research domains can be found on the website https://anthropocene.id.uj.edu.pl/strategia)

The competitive selection process is open for all individuals who meet the requirements set out in Articles 113 and 116.2.2) of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science, and who meet the following eligibility criteria according to § 163 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University:   

1. Holding at least a doctoral degree;  
2. Having significant and creative achievements in scientific, professional or artistic work;
3. Having achievements in organisational work;  

Additional expectations:  

• the degree should be obtained outside the Jagiellonian University or the candidate should be employed outside Poland at least since 2017
• achievements in scientific work should be confirmed by publications in reputable journals.  

The position holder is expected to satisfy the following requirements (subject to evaluation after the specified time):

• publish articles in which JU is the only Polish affiliation in leading journals or at CORE-ranked conferences,  
• submit at least one external Polish or international research grant of appropriate prestige, affiliated at JU,
• engage in interdisciplinary research with other members of the JU academic community.
