Rector of the Jagiellonian University. announces a competition for the post of University Professor in the group of research staff at the Faculty of Law and Administration in the discipline of legal sciences within the scope of research on sustainability and sustainable development.

The call is open to entrants who meet the requirements specified in Article 113, 116.2(2) of the Act of 20 July 2018, Law on higher education and science, and who meet the following criteria, pursuant to §163 of the JU Statute:

1. hold at least a doctorate;
2. can claim significant and creative research, professional or artistic achievements;
3. can claim achievements in work at organisations;
   
   In addition, prospective candidates should:
4. hold a doctorate or a higher degree; the doctorate should be awarded no earlier than 7 years before 1 October 2020, with the reservation that the years after the award of a doctoral degree do not include years of maternity leave, adoption leave, paternity leave, parental leave or child-care leave, granted on terms specified in the Act of 26 June 1974, Labour Code, the periods of receiving maternity allowance or parental benefits, periods of receiving sick pay or rehabilitation benefit on account of incapacity to work, including incapacity caused by a condition requiring medical rehabilitation;
5. claim substantial research achievements related to the legal aspects of the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda, including particularly publications by renowned outlets (publications in English preferred);
6. have experience implementing research projects funded with external funds under calls for proposals (experience in international and interdisciplinary projects preferred);
7. have experience in international collaboration with leading research centres and in outreach and community engagement;
8. be active participants in life of the research community (activity on editorial boards or renowned publication outlets and scientific boards welcome).

The selection board may conduct interviews with selected candidates, using means of synchronous electronic communication, regarding their research plans and objectives with respect to international collaboration and outreach and community engagement.

The employee's duties will comprise research activities coherent with the objectives of the strategic programme Excellence Initiative at the Jagiellonian University, in particular the strategy of the Priority Research Area Anthropocene, including elements of international collaboration as well as outreach and community engagement.
